We have been giving and taking many interview every now and then. And all the things that we have learned in this time , are very helpful for new candidates who are wishing to be interviewed in today’s world.
I have tried to sum up most of the important points that must be considered before going for and interview anywhere.
- Don’t underestimate the “Syllabus” of the test/interview that you are about to have . And be prepared for all the possible angles of that interview. Prepare What ? If you are having an interview then definitely you are applying for a better post than your current one, and obviously they will be requiring better skills that you currently have, so that’s what you have to prepare, study the advanced topics of your field , and also the ones that are mostly used in market.
- Know your industry. Whatever filed or industry you work in , you should have up to date knowledge of tools , technologies and methods that are being used in the market. Along with these you must have good idea of tips and tricks of getting things done in less time specifically related to your job.
- Where is industry going in near future ? You should have a pretty clear view of the future related to your industry. In the upcoming few years , what possible changes will your industry face .
- What does the company do ? The company where your going to have an interview , your should have a pretty clear view of what they do, what services they provide . How they operate, how many branches do they have.
- How do they analyze you ? Its a well known quote that in majority of the cases , a candidate gets selected or rejected in the first two minutes of the interview, and the rest of the time is just wastage of time ,
- The most significant thing that most of the candidates don’t know is that , in most of the cases , the interviewer is not looking for someone who knows theoretical things but the candidate who is more expert in practical.
- Prove that you are smart. They are looking for some one smart with less experience , instead of someone who is not smart but has more experience .
- First impression is the last impression. This interview will be most probably your first impression on that company , and really you don’t wanna ruin it. So what is it that you can do to prevent a bad impression
- Reach on time at the place given.
- Don’t reply back unnecessarily to there call email.
- Be dressed like a professional. Yours looks must depict that you are fit for an office environment.
- Your language should be fluent enough to answer all of the questions without any hesitation.
- Confidence is a key factor.
- Do whatever you can to overcome your shyness and do not be nervous about the situation.
- Every answer from you must depict your smartness level.
- And last but not the least . “Note down and remove your weak points at the end of every interview. So you will be a better candidate for the next interview you have.”
